WM help solve £850,000 Motor Fraud

The WM Investigation team have been instrumental in unravelling a complex car sales scam, involving 48 vehicles valued around £850 000, resulting in the main defendant being sentenced to five and a half years imprisonment.

Many motor finance houses fell victim to this fraud, which was further complicated by the fact that the crimes were committed in numerous police force jurisdictions. British Transport Police set-up Operation Brutus and took full responsibility for the investigation and subsequent successful prosecution.

Michael Reed marketing director said “this type of work is bread and butter to our investigation team, its another example of the commercial value add that WM deliver to clents.”
